I have owned a small business, a custom closet boutique and know first hand the excitement, the hard work and sweat that goes into it, along with the overwhelming satisfaction in knowing that a client/customer is sweetly happy and thrilled with the end product! I know the heartache of having to let a business go. And I know that the people you surround yourself with will help you to succeed…will either make you or break you.
It was put on my heart last year, as a way to give back to my community, as I would frequent my favorite small business, whether a coffee shop, a family owned foodie bar, whether Organic or not, just good food, wondering how they got started, what inspired them….how they give back…what keeps them going, what other guests, besides myself, say about them. I would ponder on it, as I would sit in their shops or at their counter working on my Real Estate business. I would find myself reflecting on my own custom closet company that I previously had…the immense joy and fulfillment it brought me. The ins and outs of each day…bustling as I would meet with clients to discuss their needs and have the opportunity to design something that would truly meet their every need. And then to see the final product and see the smile and joy it brought to each client. It made me curious for these owners.
I thought why not sit down with them and find out about their journey and perhaps share their heart and journey with their community.
I am a native Idahoan and love my home and yet I have lived in Central Florida for 30+ years and love this home also. Orlando has grown on me over the years and is where I have raised my two children. Through my local travels on the roads in business over the years, I have learned every back road and shortcut in Central Florida. My, how Orlando has changed over the years as we have so many cool little businesses…Orlando has grown into its own. From local boutique trinket shops, to eclectic coffee shops, to cool little Organic foodie bars, to hip breweries, a distillery, and wineries. And so much more!
I am proud to be a part of it. And I am honored to have the opportunity to share your story.
